Give as You Earn (Payroll Giving)

If you earn a salary, or if your pension is paid via PAYE, making a commitment to giving doesn't get any simpler than this.

'Give as You Earn' also known as 'Payroll Giving' is an HM Customs & Revenue scheme that enables employees to donate tax free through their pay to any charity in the UK.

How does it work?

Other ways to Donate:

With Give As You Earn – the UK’s largest payroll giving scheme – you can give directly from your pre-tax salary, so money that would normally go to the taxman goes to charity instead.

You just decide how much you want to give each month – it could be a couple of pounds, or hundreds

or thousands – and who you want to give it to. Then your donation comes out of your pay packet before the taxman touches it.

If your employer already operates Give As You Earn, you just have to let your payroll department know that you want to participate. You give them details of how much you want to give and tell them you want to donate to

and they sort out the rest. If your employer doesn't run Give As You Earn, and you and your colleagues think they should, ask us to contact them.

Give As You Earn gifts are taken from your pay before tax. If you’re a basic rate taxpayer, it would only cost you £5 to make a gift of £6.41. So if you want to give a fiver a month to the Noor Foundation UK, why not put down £6.41 on your donation form when you choose the amount to give – and we will get the benefit of your tax break.

If you are a higher rate taxpayer, a gift costing you £5 is worth £8.33 when you pass on your tax break to The Noor Foundation UK.
